Dr. Sebi, was a self-proclaimed herbalist healer, who also practiced in the United States in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. He was a herbalist who designed a diet for anyone who wishes to naturally cure or prevent disease and improve their overall health without relying on conventional Western medicine. Sautéed mushrooms with Quinoa and kale
Ingredients:
- 2 cups quinoa (cooked)
- 2 cups mushroom (sliced)
- 1 cup kale (chopped)
- 1 key lime (juiced)
- 1 tsp hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Sea salt to taste
- 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
Directions:
- On low to medium heat, sauté the mushrooms and bell pepper in avocado oil, add the chopped kale, and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add in the quinoa and hemp seeds, stir with the mushrooms, and remove from the stove.
- Combine olive oil, key lime juice, and salt to taste in a separate dish.
- Drizzle the key lime dressing over the mushroom, quinoa, and kale.
Banana Hemp Loaf
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp grape seed oil
- 1 cup spelt flour
- 1/4 cup ground hemp seeds
- 2 tbsp hemp hearts + extra to decorate
- ¾ tsp sea salt
- 6 burro bananas
- 1/4 cup sesame "tahini" butter
- 1/2 cup date sugar
- 1 cup homemade walnut milk
Instructions:
- Heat the oven to 350°c and grease a baking tin with a little bit of grapeseed oil.
- Put the spelt flour, ground hemp seeds, hemp hearts, and sea salt in a large bowl and mix to distribute everything evenly.
- In another bowl, use a fork to mash the burro bananas to a paste, then add the sesame "tahini" butter, date sugar, grapeseed oil, and homemade walnut milk. Mix well, then scrape into the flour bowl and mix until the batter is smooth and uniform.
- Pour into the baking dish, then tap it on the counter to level out the surface and release any air bubbles. Thinly slice the remaining banana and lay these on top of the cake to decorate and sprinkle with extra hemp hearts.
- Bake for 60 minutes, until the top of the bread is golden, and a skewer comes out clean.
Chickpea Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
- 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1 cup (approved) breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped sweet basil
- Grapeseed oil for brushing
- 1/4 cup chopped cherry tomatoes
- Sea salt and cayenne pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Add the chickpeas to a food processor along with the chopped onion and tomatoes. Process until smooth.
- Add dried basil, thyme, sea salt and cayenne pepper to the mix.
- Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and add breadcrumbs and fresh chopped sweet basil, and mix in. Use your hands to form it into a dough.
- Scoop roughly tablespoon sized amounts of dough, roll them into balls and place evenly onto a parchment lined baking tray.
- Place the tray into the freezer for 15 minutes so that the balls can firm up.
- Remove the tray from the freezer and lightly brush each ball with grapeseed oil.
- Place into the oven and bake for 20 minutes, turning the balls over once at the 10 minute mark.
- Enjoy over approved-grain pasta with homemade tomato sauce!
