Chinese medicine believes that the fight between Zheng Qi and Evil Qi is the basic pathological process of illness. Zheng Qi refers to the body’s defence system against foreign pathogenic factors, including modern immunity; Evil Qi refers to pathogenic factors. This concept is derived from the ancient work “Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classics” from 2,000 years ago.
